Stencils - "Wrong Way"

I'm not really sure what the thinking was with this one, but it cracked me up.
Was the stencil-painter trying to confuse people, or did he or she just harbor some kind of resentment towards Ponte de S. Basegio?

It was very interesting for me to read the article. Thank you for it. I like such topics and anything connected to them. I would like to read more soon.

(The previous generic message was probably from a spam-robot. A kind of test before flooding?)

Otherwise the stencil would have been even more funny if it pointed both ways for "wrong way".

Tourists are regularly dumbfounded by signs which show "<-- per Ferrovia -->" and guideboks often explain how they can still be be correct.

There is a sign somewhere in Venice which points THREE WAYS and all of them are actually the right way and not even lenghty detours!

If Euler had lived in Venice he would have jumped into the lagoon out of desperation or ended up in the asylum!
