Just the Photo - Green Bridge Under the New Bridge

I shot this under the New Bridge that crosses the Grand Canal from Piazzale Roma to the train station.

Across the top of the frame you can see some of the canvas and netting that was in place during final stages of construction clean-up of the Grand Canal's newest crossing, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.
That green bridge in the distance crosses the Rio Nuovo as it meets the Canalazzo.
One of Venice's ubiquitous moto-topos is seen plowing onto the Grand Canal, carrying fresh vegetables to market in an on-board refrigerator.
Green trees from the Giardino Papadopoli fill the frame above the choppy waters of Venice's most glorious main street.

To read more about Calatrava's Bridge, check out my post from September 25th, 2009.
