A Beautiful Pair of Sandoli

I saw these two guys and their boats from a bridge in 2005.
As I've said before:
Venice is full of beautiful gondolas, but wander around a bit, and you'll see lots of other interesting and eye-catching vessels.

The word "sandolo" refers to a whole family of Venetian boats who's uses include fishing, leisure, sport and passenger service.
A passenger sandolo is often called a "Sandolo Buranello", because they came from the island of Burano and some are still built there.

These are some of the nicest ones I've seen.
I only wish I could have gotten more photos.

Here's a standard passenger sandolo.

And here's a very rare sandolo with carved decks and gold-leaf.
