Caorline Come in All Colors

photos by Tamás Fehér

Tamás has a great eye for things.
After the caorlina regata off the tip of Giudecca,
he spotted these caorline all rafted together and snapped a few shots.

See if you can spot the "non-caorlina" in this bunch of prows.

This group kind of reminds me of a roll of fruit flavored Lifesavers.

I love those boats. I would like to buy one in the future.

Is it possible to imagine a better way for a group of friends to have a picnic, a voyage of exploration and possibly a bit of racing all in the same day than a Caorlina or two?

Hi, calling from Frankfurt/Germany rowing club: Do you know s.th about the weight of a Caorlina? How much kilo dos it have, any idea? It is not a quizz, we are going to build a list, and need to know that,
Thanks! Bytheway: do you visit Venice for Vogalonga this year?
best regards
Johannes

Hi Johannes.
Great to hear from you.
I don't know the weight but I will ask some friends in the Veneto and see if I can find out for you.
I won't be in Venice for Vogalonga this year, but I will be in northern Europe from May 2nd to the 19th. We won't make it to Frankfurt this time, but will be in London, St. Petersburg, and Berlin. Do you have any contact information for Venetian rowers in those cities?
I'll be rowing with Simon Bognolo in Copenhagen, and Nick Birch in Stratford, England.
Are you rowing in Frankfurt?
I'd love to post about gondolas there.
Ciao,
Greg
