Go ahead - hurl your disparaging comments at the guy hitching a ride when he could row. This was following a regata, and the motor boat was towing this boat back to where ever she came from. I'm guessing the guy in the red jacket could row, but was spent from earlier rowing.
Some weight and a rudder (remo in the water) could save the light little boat from harm while being towed.
