The Boston Audition

One of my gondoliers from Irving, Texas is now a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston.  His name is Connor Riley and this week he stepped aboard one of the gondolas there along the Esplanade and gave it a go.
It was an audition of sorts.
I undertand that he did well.
Connor hasn't been on the back of a gondola for a while, so I expect he'll want to spend a little more time working out the bugs and rebuilding some muscles.
In the mean time Connor is helping out with Joe's pedalboat operation and enjoying New England to the full.

Gondola di Venezia has some beautiful boats.
You may have noticed the carved deck in the photo.
Here's a close-up.
And in the background, off in the distance, you can see the dock where Boston's gondolas board and depart from, complete with striped poles.
Here's hoping that the weather will be great, and the kid from Texas will get lots of time on the water.
