Morning in Dorsoduro

During my stay in Dorsoduro, this was my view each morning while crossing the Rio di San Barnaba on my way to get breakfast in Campo Santa Margherita.
In the distance the campanile of San Barnaba's church can be seen.
Mmm, just looking at this photo and I get a craving for cappuccino.

CNN has just classified St. Mark's place as one of the 5 most infectious tourism spots in the world. They do not mean venice-mania infection, but germs due to the pigeon ivasion.

"Each year, more than 2 million visitors venture to Piazza San Marco to see the Doge's Palace and the Basilica.

Thousands of dirty pigeons crowd the square, sometimes leaving their droppings or attacking visitors. Fearless visitors who aren't worried about germs snap pictures with the birds. But health experts warn that birds are notorious for carrying dangerous germs and viruses."

Me thinks CNN has a high chance of fading into obscurity way before the venetian pigeon problem is solved, if ever... There was a big uproar when the city collected birds for gassing.
